Launch of the 2022 summer shuttles
On Friday, July 1st, Philippe Fabre, President of the Syndicat Mixte du Puy Mary and Stéphane Sautarel, Regional Councillor of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and Senator of the Cantal launched the new summer shuttle service of the Grand Site de France Puy Mary – Volcan du Cantal at a press conference at the Pas de Peyrol: The Volcano Lines.
Initially set up 6 years ago with the Cantal Departmental Council and then the Region, more than 30,000 users have used the two shuttle lines to date.
From July 15, users will be able to travel the Cantalien volcano with the help of 7 transport lines. The system will now be extended to the following areas: Aurillac, Salers, Riom-ès-Montagnes, Murat, Vic-sur-Cère… as well as the department’s main tourist sites: Lioran – Salers – Puy Mary, and the main leisure sites (Onirika, Gorges de la Jordanne, Pas de Cère, Lac des Graves…).
It will allow users to easily get to Puy Mary by purchasing a ticket for 1.5€ (OURA card holders will be able to use it, as will Cantal pass holders).
The new network, financed by the Region and the Syndicat Mixte du Puy Mary, relies on the communities of communes: CABA, Communauté de communes Carladès, Hautes Terres Communauté, Pays de Gentiane, Pays de Salers for the implementation of the new lines, including the Stabus network.
